A soft, dark teal leather is accented with a piece of dark, smooth brown leather that I burned dots into with a hot iron! The D-ring on the front comes from the horse-tack section at Weaver Leather, but those rings comes in smooth. I use a ball peen hammer to make divots into the metal before dropping into a chemical that gives the metal an antiqued look!
Use a horse-hitch knot to tie it closed...which can be a ritualistic experience each time you'd like to open or close this journal. ENJOY!
