After returning home from my 16-day trip in Vietnam, I had dreams of dragons night after night for a full week!  I am absolutely obsessed with the eastern-world dragons...the ones that are benevolent and bring water, not fire like the Western world's depiction of this mythical creature.

In Vietnamese culture, the dragon (Rồng) is a revered symbol of power, wisdom, and prosperity, deeply tied to the nation's origins and traditions. Unlike the fire-breathing dragons of the West, the Vietnamese dragon is a benevolent, life-giving force, believed to bring rain for bountiful harvests and protect the land. It represents strength, leadership, and divine energy, often associated with emperors and the legendary beginnings of the Vietnamese people.
