Andorra is a tiny little circular-shaped country nestled in the Pyrenees Mountains that separate France and Spain.  I never knew it existed until I was zooming in on Google Maps - a hobby I do from time to time.

I rented a car in Barcelona after having spent a week there, and I started driving to my beautiful AirBnB in Andorra, where I would spend 3 nights.  I have never seen mountains like the Pyrenees before, and I was told that they bring on strange dreams at night.

This is true.

One night, I awoke from said strange dream and was a little freaked out!  After all, I was on the top of a mountain, with neighbors acres and acres away, and my little cabin (which was full of antique things like lanterns, cabinet handles, and door knockers) was a little on the spine-tingling side of things.  Especially at night.  And especially for a solo female traveler!

I decided to put a robe on and walk outside to alleviate any fear by looking around at the night-lit landscape and up at the stars.  I never saw so many stars in the sky in my life!  I grabbed my phone and hoped it would take a good image of it...lucky enough, it did!

I will never forget that starry night, and the following morning, I was awakened by the sound of cowbells swinging from a herd of cow's necks as they walked along a swirling pathway on the edge of the surrounding mountains.  The mountains are tall and tight, making the echoes of the sounds confuse the listener as to where the sounds might be coming from.

I couldn't believe the cows were all the way across the ditch-like valley that cascaded down from the home site because it sounded like they were just outside my door!

But those STARS, omg!  I revisit that view in my mind's eye all the time, and this journal pays tribute to the beautiful scene in that the navy-blue leather represents the night sky, and the burnt-in dots are symbolic of those celestial sparklies!
