Growing up, I used to walk to school. Funny that I thought that was a big hassle, but it's now, later in life, when I look back and see what a good thing that was for me to do every school day.
There was a neighbor who took pride in her front yard, always grooming, planting, mowing, trimming. Especially the thickets that lined the sidewalk all the way to her mailbox. In the fall, those thickets would turn a bright, super vibrant red.
I remember looking forward to seeing them year after year, even though I cursed the walk to school and wished my mom would take me, like all the cool kids had their moms do!
Nowadays, I'd love a simple little walk like that. And those thickets to look forward to.
Guess I need to go back to Ohio for that...or if I'm lucky, I'll find something similar here in Colorado.
