After returning home from my 16-day trip in Vietnam, I had dreams of dragons night after night for a full week! I am absolutely obsessed with the eastern-world dragons...the ones that are benevolent and bring water, not fire like the Western world's depiction of this mythical creature.
I used a hot iron to burn dragon scales into this beautiful piece of leather. It was a fun meditation to be imagining what the skin of a dragon might feel like while I was visually trying to illustrate it. Makes me want to do a special page in my journal with this fun pattern...
