Pages alternate between 6 different types of paper. The 4 handmade papers include cream jute, brown jute, moss jute, fern impression with asparagus fibers, and there are two types of watercolor paper: cold press and hot press.
"Ultima Abeja" is Spanish for "last bee". Last summer and this summer, a swarm of bees nested safely underneath our upper deck. Huge nest, really. But we didn't do anything about it, as the bees were minding their own business, including helping pollinate my plants!
The turning of the season is what makes those bees disappear, and now the nest is currently empty and will be destroyed either by the winter or by myself who likes to do a little Spring cleaning and re-opening of my outdoor living space!
But I did see one bee the other day...just one bee. Flying near the nest. Landed on the deck railing. Then flew away.
